Pares Primary School Shines in Glaucoma Homework Assignment

Crissie-Ann Artwell of the Pares Primary School has been adjudged the winner of the Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) Glaucoma Homework Assignment competition. Participating students hailed from primary schools where MBS operates its School Outreach Programme.

The Glaucoma Homework Assignment required participating students to write on the topic: "Glaucoma and its impact on the Family" and formed part of activities to commemorate World Glaucoma Day, March 6, 2008. Miss Artwell took a story telling approach in developing the assignment while incorporating real life situations. Three other students, Jamaal Simon and Rousher Hemray, both of Pares Primary School and Shenella Burton of Freeman's Ville Primary School will receive consolation prizes. The assignment by Tamia Jackson, of Freeman's Ville Primary School, while showing evidence of strong adult input was singled out for special recognition by the judges.

All the assignments submitted by the grades five and six students showed evidence of being well researched and in recognition of the effort applied, participating students will receive free movie tickets, compliments Deluxe Cinemas.
